"Three narratives. Participation"

02/10/2014 - 15/02/2015

CAIXAFORUM BARCELONA

Three Narratives. Participation is the first exhibition in the series Three Narratives. Participation, Memory and Language, curated by Enrique Juncosa.

The "la Caixa" Collection of Contemporary Art comprises works that reflect many of the major art trends from the last forty years. It is uniquely placed to weave different narratives through both contemporary art and the underlying aesthetic debates and is a key resource for discovering and thinking (afresh) about art today.

This show is rooted in the notion of relational aesthetics and presents work by Olafur Eliasson, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Douglas Gordon, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Susy Gómez and Ana Laura Aláez. Their pieces invite us to question what we are seeing, since they force us to take a stance and are inspired by film and science. As a whole, they explore a wide range of different areas, including science, politics, philosophy and aesthetics, as well as more everyday matters encompassed by a broadened concept of what constitutes a work of art.
