Peu i creu is an evocation of a silence wounded by the presence of symbols, deliberately ordered in space, with great expressive power and values of formal investigation and thought that speak to us of the secrets of the cosmos. Like the print, the foot -a petrified footprint- and the cross -which is related to the theme of death and with a symbol of the coordinates of space- bear witness to a presence, tracks left behind on the territory. Reality and chance are concentrated in that iconographic and symbolic dimension and are presented in the expressive value of the material. Analytical and thoughtful, passionate and guided by a mystical fervour, Tàpies creates a plastic language which has great conceptual and procedural coherence.
