In Palazuelo’s work one finds an attempt—at times impossible—of representing the logic of chance. Driven by a structural, architectural, scientific and deceptively impersonal determination, his paintings often seem like veritable manifestos on the materialisation of abstract language.
Thus, the dawn referenced in the title, a musical composition celebrating the sunrise, unites two important aspects in the artist’s work: light, understood as a succession of chromatic planes, an optical variation, and the idea of serialism as represented by forms comprising a rhythmic sequence of sorts, a vibrating movement that unfolds horizontally across the surface of the canvas.
